It’s more than a job.
It’s a calling to serve our nation.
For three decades, our team at TransCor has been unified in a shared commitment to operate the largest and most secure private prisoner transportation agency in the nation. Our goals each day are to keep our communities safe, stay vigilant, work as a team, and ensure the men and women in their care are treated with dignity and respect.
Whether traveling in one of our state-of-the art, multi-passenger ground vehicles or chartered aircraft, our people are committed to serving with purpose, strength, and integrity.
Career Opportunities in the Field
We are well-trained, experienced, and seasoned security industry professionals performing as transportation officers, senior transportation officers, corporals, sergeants, master sergeants, assistant transportation supervisors, transportation supervisors, and support staff.
Transportation Officer
Our Transportation Officers are the backbone of our service. They are directly and personally responsible for transporting and delivering inmates and detainees. It’s critical for them to remain fit, both physically and mentally, and work together to protect their colleagues, those in their care and the public. Their work requires strict compliance with policies, procedures and applicable regulations and statues. Many of our most senior staff began their careers as Transportation Officers.
Senior Transportation Officer
With a year’s worth of on-the-job experience as a Transportation Officer, a Senior Transportation Officer is now in a position to supervise and take on more responsibility for the management of a trip in coordination with the Officer in Charge. Additionally, they focus on establishing good working relationships and communications with individuals at our partner agencies.
Corporal
Our Corporals have two years of field experience and are responsible for the supervision of Transportation Agents and inmates / detainees while operating the prisoner transporter. They serve as the Officer in Charge (OIC) or Assistant Officer in Charge as deemed appropriate and/or necessary. Additionally they provide relief as needed for staffing in areas that are short staffed or require additional supervision. A Corporal also manages and controls all resources, which typically include inmate and detainee medications and property.
Sergeant
With progressive supervisory work and “in the trenches” experience gained from working in the field, our Sergeants offer staff effective leadership and supervision. Our Sergeants offer training and serve as the Officer in Charge (OIC) while operating the prisoner transporter or conducting air or ground mass moves. Sergeants are responsible for ensuring all trip activities are conducted in accordance with TransCor policies, procedures and goals.
Master Sergeant
Monitoring safety practices and ensuring the development and implementation of effective communication is a primary responsibility of the Master Sergeant. Training and supervising team members and ensuring all trip activities are in accordance with policies, procedures and goals is also a critical function of our Master Sergeants. They also assist in coordinating and carryout mass moves, facility start-ups and offer basic and in-service training.
Assistant Transportation Supervisor
Assistant Transportation Supervisors are responsible for assisting in all aspects of operations of TransCor’s field offices, and keeping them in accordance with federal, state and local laws and the company’s policies and procedures. Additionally, they plan, supervise, coordinate and review trip schedules to ensure they meet all necessary security requirements. Assistant Transportation Supervisors prepare short and long term goals, budgets, and interview applicants and evaluate subordinate staff performance.
Transportation Supervisor
Our Transportation Supervisors are the most senior staff in TransCor’s field offices. They are the leadership that set the tone and lead by example. Transportation Supervisors are responsible for managing all aspects of their field operations, handling personnel issues and reviewing and making decisions on employment, assignments, training and work performance. They directly supervise the Assistant Transportation Supervisor and Transportation Officers. Many of our Transportation Supervisors have a degree in business, law enforcement, corrections or a related field.
