COVID-19 Vaccine Update

Dear Team TransCor,

COVID-Shot-1.jpg

At the beginning of the month, Mike Swinton and I had the opportunity to receive the first round of our COVID-19 vaccinations. As essential frontline workers, corrections professionals have been encouraged to participate in the global vaccination initiative. We were honored to do so with our team at Stewart Detention Center.

In the course of our work, we are entrusted to care for and interact with people from all walks of life, including many who may be more vulnerable to COVID-19. Safety is at the core of all we do, and vaccination is just one of the many ways that we can help keep others safe. While vaccination has been proven to benefit us individually, I feel that the greater reward is found in knowing that it will help make our team, our passengers, our families, and our communities safer.

Nationwide, many are considering vaccination and deciding if and when the vaccine may be the right choice for them. It is a personal decision for each individual, and we extend full respect to those still weighing their options.

In your decision making, I would encourage you to gather research from reputable sources, such as CDC.gov or your personal health care provider, so that you can make a thoughtful and informed decision. There are also some great resources on our parent company’s website: www.CoreCivic.com/VaccineInfo

I hope that you will consider joining me in taking the vaccine. It’s a simple step that’s proven to make a big difference.

The COVID-19 pandemic has been tough on many of us — some have even faced its grief firsthand. We’re working hard to return to normalcy and hopeful that it will come soon, but we still have a long way to go. We cannot let our guard down now — lives depend on all of us.

Thank you for your dedication and thoughtful consideration.
