Celebrating Women's History Month

women's history month

Team TransCor,

March is National Women’s History Month — an annual celebration honoring the contributions of women to American history, culture, and industry. In 1987, after being petitioned by the National Women’s History Project, Congress passed Pub. L. 100-9 which designated the month of March 1987 as Women’s History Month. Between 1988 and 1994, Congress then passed additional resolutions requesting and authorizing the President to proclaim March of each year as Women’s History Month. Since 1988, U.S. presidents have issued annual proclamations designating the month of March as Women’s History Month.

Throughout history, women have worked tirelessly toward a path of equality. Because of their courage and determination, they blazed trails and achieved milestones that we celebrate today. Their voices have had a profound impact on the generations that followed them. Many of these milestones aren’t as far in the past as we may think. Today, Woman's History Month gives us an opportunity to acknowledge their struggles and celebrate their achievements.

I am extremely proud of the significant contributions from our outstanding women in uniform, supervisors, directors, and leaders at the Central Office. It's an honor and privilege to serve alongside each of them.

As we recognize Women’s History Month and celebrate the contributions and accomplishments, you can learn more from sources like the National Women’s History Museum.

Throughout the month of March, I welcome and encourage you to share a story of a woman in your life (personally or professionally) that has made an impact on you, your family, or the organization.

With thanks and gratitude for all you do.
