Changing Schedules and Needs for COVID-19
Dear Team TransCor,
I hope that this message finds you safe, healthy, and staying positive in the wake of the COVID-19 crisis. At TransCor, we recognize the important role that we play in providing an essential service during a very challenging time. The current situation we all find ourselves in remains a fast-moving one and largely unprecedented in recent times. Our immediate priority remains taking every preventive measure available to ensure the health and safety of our employees and those entrusted into our care. While I certainly realize the pandemic is a rapidly evolving situation, rest assured that TransCor's leadership team is attentive to addressing and overcoming obstacles that present themselves. In concert with CoreCivic, we are making decisions necessary to ensure that we meet the changing needs of those whom we serve and to safeguard the viability of our business. For nearly thirty years, TransCor has proudly been guided by our mission statement and our industry recognizes us for our motto, "Performance, Driven by Excellence." Now, more than ever, it's important that we exhibit it!
Related to our current operating network, over this past weekend the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) temporarily suspended transportation activity at the Stewart Detention Center in Lumpkin, GA. In response, we have redirected the priorities of the impacted staff and resources during this brief period of pause. Similarly, we have also recognized some limited scheduling disruptions and understandable reductions of trip activity in other areas of our operating network. Nobody knows for sure how this health crisis will play out. But what we do know is that businesses who respond quickly and decisively will reduce the impact on their employees and business results.
This pandemic has created what understandably can be a very difficult and uncertain time for some of us. But we cannot lose sight of the importance of work, health, and family. TransCor remains committed to be present for those we are so privileged to serve in whatever capacity is needed. We also stand eagerly ready to return to regular operational business volume as soon as directed. While this pandemic was an unforeseen challenge, I believe strongly in this company and each one of you. I'm confident we will get through this together and we will emerge even stronger. It is these kind of times which bring out the best in all of us as We Stand Together.
In closing, let me again acknowledge how incredibly proud I am of all our uniformed frontline staff and the Central Office support staff. Your commitment and discipline are critical at this time to maintain our industry standing and business continuity. This pandemic has altered life as we know it and yet you show up ready to work every day and charge onward. Thank you!
Please stay safe: we need you!
Sincerely,
Curt Sullivan
